Lewis Jacobs

Lewis Jacobs has a strong background in software development and engineering. Lewis started their career at RedBite Solutions in 2016 as a Software Developer, where they worked on innovative technologies such as OSGi, Spring, RFID, Elastic, and Vaadin. Lewis played a critical role in a large-scale RFID deployment and eventually became the sole developer for the project. In 2018, Lewis was promoted to Senior Software Developer and took on the responsibility of developing a new SaaS product called itemit. Lewis worked extensively with technologies like Spring Boot, ElasticSearch, Neo4j, Docker, and AWS, and also managed and taught junior employees and interns. In 2019, Lewis transitioned to the role of Lead Server Developer at RedBite Solutions, where they led the launch of a new version of the itemit product and implemented a new technology stack that addressed existing problems. In April 2021, Lewis became a Co-Founder of itemit and was appointed as the Lead Developer for all projects at RedBite Solutions. Lewis led the day-to-day development across multiple projects and played a critical role in scaling the application to support a growing customer base and larger datasets. Lewis recently joined Matillion in 2023 as a Senior Software Engineer.

Lewis Jacobs has a solid education history. Lewis obtained a Master's Degree in Games Development from the University of East Anglia, graduating in 2015. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science at the University of Essex, where they attended from 2011 to 2014. Before entering university, Lewis attended Long Road in Cambridge for two years, although the specific degree and field of study are unknown.
