Key Responsibilities 
    • Support the engineering team by assisting in the design and production of comprehensive construction documents, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and adherence to project requirements 
    • Collaborate on the preparation of initial site plans and pricing sets, applying technical skills to create layouts that support project feasibility and budgeting considerations 
    • Work alongside engineers to contribute to the design of civil utilities and site plans, including water distribution, sanitary sewer systems, storm drains, hydraulic grade line (HGL) modeling, fire flow analysis, and stormwater management solutions 
    • Assist in the creation of detailed site grading plans and perform earthwork calculations to support project development, including sediment and erosion control measures that align with regulatory standards 
    • Perform accurate quantity take-offs to aid in project material estimation and resource allocation, ensuring that project proposals are cost-effective and comprehensive 
    • Read and analyze topographic maps, FEMA flood maps, and soil maps to inform site assessments and design considerations, providing critical insights into project feasibility and environmental impact 
    • Create and revise engineering drawings to align with McAdams’ design and CAD standards, maintaining high quality and consistency across project deliverables 
    • Other duties as assigned 

Skills + Experience  
    • Diploma, associate degree, or certification in CAD technology, drafting, civil engineering technology, or a related field preferred 
    • Minimum of 1-3 years’ experience in a CAD Technician or similar role preferred 
    • Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar programs preferred 
    • Strong understanding of civil engineering principles, including grading and drainage preferred 
    • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to produce accurate, high-quality drawings 
    • Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with engineers and other departments 
    • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment 
    • Problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to addressing design issues

    • Work will primarily be in an office setting with limited opportunities to be exposed to adverse environmental conditions. 
    • Work will be primarily working with fingers by picking, pinching, typing, and grasping often with repetitive motion.  
    • Must have visual acuity for viewing a computer screen, the ability to talk, hear and sit for extended periods of time. 
    • Must be able to carry, lift and push/pull up to 5 pounds frequently and up to 30 pounds occasionally.
