Marc Hardy has a diverse work experience spanning several organizations and roles. Marc is currently working at Merchants Bank of Indiana as the VP of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, a position they started in July 2023. Prior to that, they served as the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Manager at the same company from July 2022 to July 2023.
Before joining Merchants Bank of Indiana, Marc held various positions at different organizations. Marc was the Executive Director/Co-Founder of CAN I BE REAL Inc., a role they started in February 2019 and continues to hold. Marc also authored a book called "CAN I BE REAL?" from November 2017 to July 2022, focusing on social justice issues and promoting candid discussions.
Marc's experience also includes working at Paramount Schools of Excellence as the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Coordinator from July 2021 to July 2022. Marc has also worked at KIPP Indy Public Schools, where they held roles such as Founding Director of School Operations, Founding Operations Manager at KIPP Indy Legacy High School, and Operations Manager at KIPP Indy College Prep Middle School.
Additionally, Marc worked as an Operations Associate at KIPP Bay Area Schools from August 2016 to June 2018. Marc also served as a Summer Program Coordinator at CODE2040 in June 2016.
Earlier in their career, Marc was a City Year Americorps Member at AmeriCorps, focusing on tutoring, lesson planning, and intervention sessions for elementary school students. Marc also worked at Carmel Clay Parks and Recreation as a Sports Instructor/Member Services Associate and Recreation Intern.
Prior to that, Marc was a Logistics Account Executive at Total Quality Logistics, where they handled freight logistics for manufacturers. Marc started their professional journey as an Undergraduate Student at Indiana University Bloomington, where they held several leadership roles, including Indiana University Tour Guide, Director of Freshman Outreach, Groups Program Ambassador, and Vice President of the Gamma Eta Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.
Overall, Marc has a strong background in diversity, equity, and inclusion, as well as experience in education, logistics, and leadership roles.
Marc Hardy attended Pike High School from 2005 to 2009. Following their high school education, they enrolled at Indiana University Bloomington from 2009 to 2013. Marc graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree, majoring in Sociology with a focus on African American & African Diaspora Studies.
