Guy Trimby

Guy Trimby is a Research and Development Scientist at MiAlgae since November 2022, focusing on novel product development and the improvement of value-added products. Previously, Trimby served as a Logistics Operator and Scientific Advisor at Isle of Harris Distillers Ltd. from October 2021 to October 2022, providing guidance on gin and whisky quality and hygiene improvements. Additional experience includes working as a Laboratory Assistant at the University of Exeter, where Trimby specialized in yeast and bacteria cultivation and synthetic biology, and as a Support Assistant at Protein Technologies Ltd., concentrating on bacterial cultivation and molecular biology. Trimby's educational background includes a PhD in Biotechnology from the Scottish Association For Marine Science, a Master's degree in Applied Marine Science from the University of Plymouth, and a Bachelor's degree in Navigation and Maritime Science from the same university.
