Hilary Gunning

Hilary Gunning is an accomplished editor and proofreader with extensive experience in the publishing and academic sectors. Currently serving as a Book Editor at Apex CoVantage since May 2023, Gunning is responsible for copyediting completed book manuscripts. As the Editor and Owner of HG Editing since October 2012, Gunning reviews a variety of texts for language accuracy, collaborates with authors to enhance writing quality, and manages projects to meet deadlines. Additional roles include proofreading for Michigan Language Assessment and editing research articles for the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and Cactus Communications. Gunning has previously edited for the Jewish Review of Books and held an administrative position at Houghton University, where skills in content production and academic assessments were developed. Gunning holds a BA in English and Psychology from Houghton University.
