Barry Norton

Barry Norton is an accomplished technology leader with extensive experience in research, digital platforms, and data science. Currently serving as the VP of Research at Milestone Systems since May 2018, Barry has previously held significant roles including Head of Digital Platform and Head of Analytics Operations at A.P. Moller - Maersk and Elsevier, respectively. Expertise encompasses agile development of digital products utilizing big data technologies, machine learning solutions, and data architecture within cultural heritage at The British Museum. Barry's career includes pivotal roles in leading research initiatives, training in semantic technologies, and contributing to European projects in Linked Data and the Semantic Web, with a strong academic foundation from The University of Sheffield, holding both a PhD and BEng in Computer Science.
