Raul Velasquez

Raul Velasquez is a seasoned geomechanics research engineer with extensive experience in geotechnical engineering. Currently serving at the Minnesota Department of Transportation since July 2019, Raul has previously held significant roles at Barr Engineering Co., including Senior Geotechnical Engineer and Geotechnical Specialist from February 2013 to July 2019. Prior to that, Raul worked as a Research Associate at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, focusing on research at the Modified Asphalt Research Center from July 2009 to January 2013. Raul began the career as a Research Assistant at the University of Minnesota from September 2003 to June 2009. Education includes a Ph.D. and MS in Civil Engineering from the University of Minnesota, along with a BS in Civil Engineering from Universidad de Los Andes.
