Liz Gilles is an experienced education professional with a diverse background in teaching, curriculum design, and program management. Currently serving as the Education Curator at Minnesota Zoo since April 2017, Liz's role evolved to Director of Education due to COVID-19 restructuring. Previous positions include Education Supervisor at Minnesota Zoo and School and Teacher Programs Supervisor at Hiawatha Academies. With a strong foundation in science education, Liz has taught various grade levels and subjects, including 7th-grade science and 10th-grade biology. Liz's earlier experience includes roles as a Community Researcher at the University of Missouri-Columbia and a Regional Leader for the Peace Corps, where extensive curriculum development and community engagement took place. Liz holds a Master's degree in Education from Stanford University and a Bachelor's degree in Biology and English from Macalester College.
