Matthew Gatehouse

Matthew Gatehouse has extensive experience in public service management, currently serving as Chief Officer - People, Performance and Partnerships at Monmouthshire County Council since May 2014. Matthew's roles at the council have included Head of Policy Performance and Scrutiny, Head of Policy and Governance, and Policy and Performance Manager, where Matthew has focused on developing a performance culture and continuous improvement strategies. Prior to this, Matthew was the Public Innovation Lead for Wales at Nesta, contributing to the Wales Public Services 2025 programme and co-writing the 'State of Innovation' report. Earlier in their career, Matthew worked as an Improvement Officer at Monmouthshire County Council, where Matthew played a significant role in integrating health and social care and managing cost-effective service transformations. Matthew holds a degree in Economics from Swansea University.
