Amanda Stern-Pirlot

Vice President--science at MRAG Americas, Inc.

Amanda Stern-Pirlot has a diverse work experience in the field of fisheries and sustainability. Amanda began their career in 2005 as a Fisheries Scientist at IFM-GEOMAR, where they worked on an EU project focused on sustainable fisheries management. Amanda then moved to the Marine Stewardship Council in 2008, where they held positions as the Policy Development Director and Developing World Fisheries Project Manager until 2013. After that, Amanda joined the At-sea Processors Association as a Natural Resources Analyst for a year. Since 2014, they have been working at MRAG Americas, Inc., initially as the Director of Fisheries Certification and is currently serving as the Vice President--Science.

Amanda Stern-Pirlot began their education at E.O. Smith High School, where they completed their high school studies from 1993 to 1997. Amanda then pursued their Bachelor's degree in Environmental Studies/Economics at Macalester College from 1997 to 2001. Afterward, they continued their education at the University of Bremen, where they obtained a Master of Science degree in Fisheries/Marine Ecology from 2002 to 2004.
