David J. Losos, P.E. has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning multiple industries. David J. began their career in 1996 as a Machinist and Heavy Wheeled Vehicle Mechanic at 536th Engr Bn. Cmbt Hvy, where they performed manual machining operations and conducted scheduled service operations on construction equipment. David J. then served as a Senior Machinist and Shop Foreman at 183rd Maint. Co. from 1998 to 2000, where they specialized in manual machining on Versa-mill and Standard Modern Lathe as part of U.S. Army's Direct Support Maintenance Operations.
In 2000, they joined Aerotech International as a Manufacturing Department Programmer/Operator, where they worked with Mazak CNC Milling Machines and Mazatrol M32 and 640 systems for large volume machining with tight tolerances.
From 2003 to 2005, Losos worked as an Engineering CO-OP at Mine Safety Appliances Company, where they assisted New-Product-Development engineers in day-to-day operations and conducted engineering analysis of safety product systems.
Since 2005, Losos has been associated with MSA - The Safety Company, initially as a Principal Mechanical Engineer in New-Product-Development. Currently, they serve as a Technical Project Lead, responsible for coordinating all technical design elements, developing and implementing test plans, managing workflow, and providing mentorship to staff engineers and co-ops. David J. is also involved in the adoption and optimization of emerging technologies.

David J. Losos, P.E. has a diverse education history. David J. obtained a Master of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh, John A Swanson School of Engineering from 2008 to 2010. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh, which they attended from 2000 to 2005. Additionally, David received a Certificate of Training in Essentials of Firefighting from Allegheny County Fire Academy in 2005.
David has also pursued military education, completing the Noncommissioned Officer Academy at U.S.Army in 1998 for Primary Leadership Development. In 1997, they attended U.S. Army Air Assault School and obtained wings in basic tactical heliborne operations. Furthermore, they received certification in Machinist from Aberdeen Proving Grounds U.S.Army Ordnance School in 1996.
In addition to their formal education, David has obtained various certifications. David J. obtained the Design for Six Sigma - Black Belt certification from Mine Safety Appliances in September 2019. David J. also holds certifications related to Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) from SolidProfessor, including GD&T Profile, Location, and Runout Symbols in April 2019, GD&T Essentials and Fundamental Skills in March 2019, and GD&T Form and Orientation Controls, also in March 2019. David obtained their Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in Mechanical, Mechanical Systems, and Materials from the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES) in October 2015.
