Umar Farooq

Umar Farooq has a diverse work experience in the field of telecommunications. Umar is currently serving as a Technical Lead Assurance Solution Architect at MYCOM OSI for the stc Project in Riyadh. In this role, they are responsible for leading a team of engineers and ensuring the successful delivery of project tasks. Umar's responsibilities include analyzing data from various telecom vendors, designing and deploying adaptors/plugins, and upgrading the platform.

Prior to their current position, Umar worked as a Senior System Engineer at MYCOM EAMEA for the STC Project. Here, they were involved in the implementation and integration processes of the products. Umar actively participated in technical architecture, interface design, report design, and configuration. Additionally, Umar performed tasks such as requirement gathering, system audit, customer network architecture study, and communication with the R&D team.

Before joining MYCOM OSI, Umar worked at STC as a Sr. OSS Consultant. In this role, they provided support for Huawei OSS EMS/NMS servers and handled various tasks related to tier-1 and tier-2 support. Umar also worked on the integration of Huawei-Symantec NetBackup servers with M2000 servers.

At First Point Group, Umar worked as an OSS Consultant for the Huawei-du MS Project. Umar offered technical support to Huawei UAE for the du Managed Services Project, focusing on M2000 related issues and configurations.

Umar's professional journey began at Huawei Technologies Pakistan Pvt. Ltd., where they served as a Technical Support OSS Engineer. In this role, they provided technical support for BSS M2000 issues related to 2G and 3G projects. Umar also worked as a BSS Engineer for the Managed Services (OMC) of PTCL CDMA Phase II Project, where they monitored alarms and managed field engineers.

Umar Farooq completed their Bachelor's degree in Telecommunication Engineering from the Institute of Engineering & Technology Lahore. Umar pursued this four-year program from 2003 to 2007.
