Sourav Sahoo is a geophysicist with extensive experience in the study of methane hydrates and their impact on marine sediments. Presently employed as a Rock Physicist at the National Oceanography Centre since June 2018, Sourav's research focuses on gas hydrate quantification using laboratory experiments. Prior to this position, Sourav completed a PhD at the University of Southampton, graduating in November 2017, while being supervised by Dr. Angus I Best and Prof. Tim A Minshull. Significant contributions include high-resolution synchrotron imaging of methane hydrate dynamics conducted at the Paul Scherrer Institut and a visiting scholar role at GFZ-Potsdam exploring hydrate formation's effects on sediment resistivity. Additional academic experiences include proficiency in seismic data analysis from various internships and research projects at UiT The Arctic University of Norway and Academia Sinica, along with a solid educational foundation in geophysics from renowned institutions.
