Don Melchert

Don Melchert has a diverse work experience in the field of data centers and facilities management. Don began their career as a Technical Trainer and Sr. Field Service Engineer at American Power Conversion, where they provided full life cycle maintenance and conducted training for Data Center University students. Don then worked as a Critical Facility Specialist at Universal Networking Services, focusing on data center inspections, energy profiles, project management, and service division management.

Later, Melchert served as a Technical Project Manager at I.S. International, ensuring the successful installation and construction of new builds for Google projects. Don then joined Mercy as a Lead Systems Administrator, where they played a crucial role in providing technical expertise for critical infrastructure and leading teams in a 24x7x365 environment.

Melchert expanded their career in the data center industry by becoming a Data Center Build Manager at Cyxtera Technologies (Century Link), overseeing acquisition, expansion, and retrofit projects at colocation facilities worldwide. Don then took on the role of Construction Manager, MEP Coordinator, and Commissioning Manager at Vertiv Co, responsible for identifying and managing project resources for MEP solutions in the Americas.

In 2019, Melchert joined Chayora as the Director of Operations, Commissioning, and Integration, leading the company's hyperscale data center operations, security, and infrastructure development. Don later moved to FOX Sports as the Director of Facilities, overseeing facility operations.

Most recently, Melchert worked at Salute Mission Critical as a Data Center Manager - Site Lead, responsible for managing data center operations and site leadership. Don is currently serving as the Sr. Director of Data Center Operations at Nautilus Data Technologies. Throughout their career, Melchert has demonstrated strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to thrive in fast-paced, mission-critical environments.

Don Melchert served in the United States Marine Corps from 1992 to 2000. Prior to their military service, they obtained a Certificate of Completion in Accounting and Business/Management from International Business College in 1992.
