Lauren Goodman is an experienced conservation professional currently serving as a Conservation Coordinator at The Nature Conservancy since April 2020, specializing in landscape ecology, native NC restoration, and public funding management with a focus on holistic and equitable conservation. Additionally, Lauren has held the position of Chief Judge for the NC State Board of Elections since September 2020, leading efforts to ensure free and fair elections in North Carolina. Previous roles include Environmental Science Teaching Assistant and Graduate Researcher at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, with research concentrated on shark nursery habitats in the Galápagos Marine Reserve. Lauren also contributed to environmental education as an IMPACTS Ambassador at Morehead Planetarium & Science Center and as an Environmental Educator at Piedmont Wildlife Center. Lauren holds a Master of Science in Ecology and a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science and Geographic Information Systems, both from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
