Jan Erik Wien

Jan Erik Wien is an experienced leader in geo-information and environmental research with significant roles in various organizations. Currently serving as CEO at NEO BV Netherlands since February 2018, Wien oversees initiatives that address societal challenges through geo-information and earth observation. Previously, Wien was the Business Manager and Head of Alterra at Wageningen Environmental Research from July 2012 to December 2016, managing interdisciplinary research in sustainable land use, ecology, and water management. Wien held managerial positions at Wageningen UR and Alterra, where a focus on environmental informatics and geo-information was prominent. Wien's career began at LEI Wageningen UR as a scientific researcher and project manager, with foundational education in Animal Science from Wageningen University & Research and additional studies at Cornell University and INSEAD.
