Maria Grimmett has worked in the field of process engineering since 2020, when they began as a Process Engineer I at Neurona Therapeutics. Prior to this, they worked as a Student Researcher at Cui Lab, Johns Hopkins University from 2017 to 2020, where they focused on the development of novel drug delivery systems. Before this, they worked as a Student Researcher from 2011 to 2017, where they discovered an effective hypercrosslinked adsorbent for the removal of the veterinary drug sulfamethazine from contaminated groundwater in rural areas. Maria also evaluated adsorption performance across realistic conditions to optimize use in real-world applications.
Maria Grimmett attended the Johns Hopkins Whiting School of Engineering from 2016 to 2020, earning a Bachelor's degree in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering in 2020 and a Master's degree in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering in 2021. Maria also earned a Minor in Visual Arts from The Johns Hopkins University in 2020.
