Jonathan Masci

Jonathan Masci has a diverse work experience in the field of computer science. Jonathan co-founded NNAISENSE in 2014 and serves as the Chief Scientist for Deep Learning. Prior to this, from May 2014 to November 2016, they worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at USI Università della Svizzera italiana under the supervision of Prof. Michael Bronstein. During this time, they contributed to the implementation of deep learning to graphs and manifolds, which is now known as Geometric Deep Learning. Jonathan also co-invented a patent in this field. Before that, Jonathan was a PhD student at IDSIA from April 2010 to April 2014. Additionally, in the interim between their Master's graduation and PhD, they worked as a Programmer at Multibage Ltd. from September 2009 to April 2010, where they developed building attendance systems and provided customer support.

Jonathan Masci completed their education in Computer Science with a Bachelor's degree from Università degli Studi di Perugia, where they studied from 2002 to 2006. Jonathan then pursued their Master's degree from Università di Pisa, specializing in Computer Science, from 2006 to 2009. Later, they obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Computer Science from USI Università della Svizzera italiana, completing their studies from 2010 to 2014.

Aside from their formal education, Jonathan has also obtained several certifications. In 2023, they completed the "AWS Cloud Technical Essentials" course from Coursera. Jonathan also completed the "Mathematics for Machine Learning: Linear Algebra" course from Coursera in January 2023 and the "Probabilistic Graphical Models 1: Representation" course from Coursera in November 2022. Furthermore, they obtained the "MBA Essentials" certification from The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) in August 2022. Earlier, in May 2021, they completed the "Foundations of Project Management" course from Coursera.
