Fernando Barrera has a diverse work experience spanning over three decades. Fernando began their career in 1990 as an Analyst at SECRETARIA DE COMUNICACIONES Y TRANSPORTES SCT MÉXICO. Fernando then worked as an Engineer at EFE Asesores, S.A. de C.V. from 1995 to 1997. In 1997, they joined Conagua (Comisión Nacional del Agua) as a Project Manager, and remained in that role until 2001. Subsequently, from 2004 to 2010, Fernando worked as a Senior Projects Development Analyst at PEMEX.
Fernando'smost recent and long-term position was at the North American Development Bank, where they held various roles. Fernando started in May 2010 as a Border Environment Infrastructure Fund Senior Specialist. From February 2012 to July 2018, they served as a Senior Project Closing Specialist. From August 2018 to October 2018, they held the position of Senior Infrastructure Financing Specialist. Additionally, from November 2018 to July 2019, Fernando worked as an Infrastructure Financing Officer. Currently, they hold the position of Associate Director of Financial Services, Corporate and Public Sectors, a role which they started in August 2019.
Fernando Barrera's education history includes various degrees and diplomas in different fields of study. Fernando obtained their High School/Secondary Diploma from Centro Universitario México from 1987 to 1990. From 1991 to 1995, they pursued a B.Sc. in Civil Engineering from Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México. In 2000, they earned a Diploma in Administration from Tecnológico de Monterrey. Lastly, they completed an M.Sc. in Project Planning and Management from the University of Bradford from 2001 to 2002.
