Johan Åström

Johan oversees Nuveen Real Estate’s investment and asset management activities in the Nordic region. He is responsible for the management of our Nordic teams in Stockholm and Helsinki with capabilities ranging from investment, asset management, shopping centre development, transactions, leasing and property analysis. He also coordinates local and international capabilities of the business to maximise asset performance for our clients.

Prior to joining Nuveen Real Estate in 2012, Johan worked for Nordic Real Estate Partners where he was responsible for the asset management of a Swedish retail fund. Before that, he worked at Jones Lang LaSalle overseeing shopping centre development and strategies. He also worked as managing director at Heron International Sweden, and was head of property management in Sweden for Cushman & Wakefield, LLP. He entered the real estate industry in 1997.

Johan graduated with a B.S. in Asset Management from the Royal Institute of Technology (Sweden).
