Scientist - Vaccine Discovery at Nykode

Dipankar Manna has a diverse work experience in the field of scientific research and drug discovery. Dipankar is currently working as a Scientist - Vaccine Discovery at Nykode Therapeutics since December 2021. Prior to that, they worked as a Visiting Scientist at CALPRO AS, a Svar Life Science company in November 2021.

From 2016 to 2021, Dipankar Manna was associated with the University of Oslo (UiO) where they held multiple roles. Dipankar worked as a Researcher with Prof. Ute Krengel's group at the Department of Chemistry. Dipankar was also a Postdoctoral Fellow and taught a Protein Crystallography course.

In 2013, Dipankar Manna joined the University of Oslo as a Graduate Student Researcher under Prof. Ute Krengel's group, where they focused on studying fungal chimerolectins and their role in fungal defense using structural biology as a tool.

During their time as a PhD student, they had the opportunity to work as a Guest Student Researcher at The Norwegian Radium Hospital, Oslo, where they conducted cellular toxicity assays and studied the effect of PSL1a protease on mammalian cancer cells.

Additionally, they worked as a Visiting Student Researcher at ETH Zurich in 2015, where they worked in the laboratory of Prof. Markus Künzler (Markus Aebi Lab.) at the Institute of Microbiology.

Before their academic research, Dipankar Manna worked as a Research Scientist in Protein Science & Drug Discovery at Aurigene Discovery Technologies Limited from 2011 to 2013.

Dipankar also gained experience in marketing while working as a Marketing Associate at Avantor in 2010, where they developed sales strategies, identified client requirements, and expanded the client base.

Dipankar Manna started their research career in 2008 as a Project Assistant in Protein Biochemistry & Crystallography at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kharagpur.

Prior to their research career, they worked as a Professional Service Representative at Dr. Reddy's Laboratories in 2007, where they managed customer relationships and provided excellent customer service.

Throughout their career, Dipankar Manna has demonstrated expertise in scientific research, protein science, drug discovery, and customer relationship management.

Dipankar Manna completed a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Protein Biochemistry & Structural Biology from the University of Oslo (UiO) from 2013 to 2016. Prior to that, they earned a Master's Degree in Biotechnology from Berhampur University from 2003 to 2005. Before pursuing their master's, they obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Microbiology from Vidyasagar University from 2000 to 2003.
