Jòan Gondolo

Jòan Gondolo has a diverse work experience in the legal and academic fields. Jòan is currently the Co-founder and Head of Legal at Optimalex since July 2020. Prior to that, they worked as a Lecturer in UK Company Law at Université catholique de Lille from January 2019 to present. Jòan also has teaching experience as a PhD Teaching Fellow and Research & Teaching Fellow at University Paris 1 Panthéon - Sorbonne from September 2016 to August 2022. Jòan has taught and conducted research in the area of privacy & data protection law.

In addition, Jòan worked as a Law Teacher at EAJF from July 2021 to April 2022 and as Chief of Staff at Metis[X] from February 2017 to present. Jòan has also served as a Teaching Fellow at Faculté Jean Monnet (Droit, Économie, Gestion) - Université Paris-Saclay from September 2018 to January 2019.

Jòan has gained practical experience as a Strategy Consultant at Altermind, a consultancy firm, from June 2017 to June 2018. Jòan provided strategic solutions to businesses and governmental agencies, combining research, strategy, and communications.

Furthermore, Jòan worked as an Assistant Researcher at Columbia Law School from June 2016 to February 2017. Jòan also has previous experience as an Independent Consultant at Frédéric Bourguet-Maurice Avocat in July and August 2015. Jòan interned at ABSISKEY from May to June 2015, where they worked on the implementation of European and French financing policies in the automotive and aerospace sectors.

Jòan Gondolo is currently pursuing a Doctorat de droit at the University of Paris I: Panthéon-Sorbonne. Prior to this, they were a Visiting Researcher at Harvard Law School from 2015 to 2016. Jòan also obtained a Master 2 (M2) in English and American Business Law from the University of Paris I: Panthéon-Sorbonne in 2015-2016. In 2014-2015, they completed a Master 1 in International Business Law at the same university. Jòan Gondolo started their education journey with a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) at Université Côte d'Azur between 2011 and 2014. Before that, they completed their Baccalauréat Général in Série Economique et Social (ES) at Lycée Auguste Renoir from 2008 to 2011.
