Mercedes Canto

Mercedes Canto has over 20 years of work experience in quality management and auditing. Mercedes started their career in 1994 as the Director and consultant for Quality Management Systems at TEPSO, S.L. Mercedes then moved on to become the Director of Quality Management at LUNKOPLAS, S.A (GRUPO LUNKE) in 1996, where they were responsible for overseeing the production of technical and safety components for the automotive sector. In 2001, Mercedes joined Applus Technologies as a Lead Auditor, where they conducted certification audits for various industries and sectors including metal, electronics, transportation, administration, education, hospitality, social services, and more. Mercedes also led projects to improve logistics for a large automotive company and evaluated excellence awards for sports federations and Catalan businesses. Mercedes has extensive experience working with clients globally, including in Portugal, Tunisia, Morocco, the Czech Republic, Greece, Poland, France, and Mexico. Overall, Mercedes has demonstrated expertise in quality management, audit compliance, and business development throughout their career.

Mercedes Canto has a solid educational background with a focus on engineering and industrial safety. Mercedes holds a degree in Ingenieria Técnica Industrial from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya. Additionally, they have pursued two Master's degrees: one in PRL (Seguridad Industrial, Higiene y Ergonomía- Psicosociología) and another in Materiales Plásticos e Ingeniería de Componentes, both from the same university.

Aside from their formal education, Mercedes also holds various certifications in different areas. Mercedes obtained the certification in Evaluación de la Gestión Ética y Socialmente Responsable de acuerdo a la norma SGE 21:2008 from Forética in October 2008. Mercedes became an Auditor PECAL (Proveedores Industria Militar) through AEC (Madrid) in September 2004. In the same month, they also became an Evaluador EFQM from Applus. Earlier, in June 2001, they achieved the Auditor Calidad EOQ certification from Asociación Española Calidad (AEC) in Madrid. In December 1998, they became an Auditor Acreditado ISO 9000 (CQA) from the American Society for Quality (ASQ) in Milwaukee, USA.
