Jason Hopkins

Jason Hopkins is a senior innovation and research scientist specializing in Earth observation at Ordnance Survey since May 2018. Prior experience includes roles as an Earth observation specialist and postdoctoral researcher at Bigelow Laboratory for Ocean Sciences, as well as a PhD research student at the National Oceanography Centre. Jason graduated with first-class honours in Oceanography from the University of Southampton in 2011 and subsequently earned a PhD in the same field from the same institution. Early career experiences include positions as a VAT manager at Grant Thornton LLP and a VAT assurance officer at HM Revenue & Customs, alongside technical roles as an IT engineer at CTech Solutions Ltd and service as a Chief Petty Officer Marine Engineering Artificer in the Royal Navy from 1990 to 2002.
