Sharlene Hunter

Sharlene Hunter is a seasoned communications professional with extensive experience in media relations and public engagement. Currently serving as the Manager of Communications for the Ottawa Catholic School Board since July 2019, Sharlene has previously held roles as Communications/Media Relations Officer with the OCDSB, where responsibilities included acting as Press Secretary and managing media inquiries. Prior to that, Sharlene managed communications for the Algonquin and Lakeshore Catholic District School Board and the Upper Canada District School Board, focusing on media relations, staff management, and successful advertising campaigns to increase enrolment. With a diverse background in marketing, public relations, and education, Sharlene has developed strong professional relationships across various sectors and holds multiple educational qualifications, including certificates and diplomas in IT Project Management, public administration, and broadcast journalism.
