Lucy Georgieva has a strong background in research and genetics. Lucy began their career at Medical University Sofia, where they completed their PhD in 2003. Lucy then moved on to work as a Research Associate at Cardiff University for ten years, from 2004 to 2014. In 2014, they joined Oxford Gene Technology as an NGS Senior Scientist (R&D) and later became the Head of Research in April 2020. Throughout their career, they have focused on advancing knowledge and innovation in the field of genetics.
Lucy Georgieva began their education in 1994 at Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski, where they pursued a Master of Science (MSc) in Molecular Biology. Lucy completed their degree in 1999. Afterward, from 2000 to 2003, they attended the Medical University Sofia, obtaining a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Molecular Genetics. Later on, in 2012, they enrolled at Cardiff University / Prifysgol Caerdydd, specializing in Bioinformatics and Genetic Epidemiology. Lucy completed their Master of Science (MSc) degree in 2015 at Cardiff University / Prifysgol Caerdydd.
