Pedro Ortiz

Pedro Ortiz has worked as a Scientist at Oxford Nanopore Technologies since November 2011. Before that, they were a Senior Research Associate at Instituto de Microlectronica de Barcelona - IMB-CNM from January 2010 to October 2011. Prior to that, they worked as a Research Associate at Newcastle University from February 2007 to December 2009.

Pedro Ortiz has a strong educational background with degrees in Biomedical Nanotechnology, Micro and Optoelectronics Devices, and Electrical Engineering. Pedro obtained their PhD from Newcastle University between 2003 and 2007, focusing on Biomedical Nanotechnology. Prior to that, they completed an MSc degree in Micro and Optoelectronics Devices from Grenoble INP - UGA in 2001 and 2002. In the early years of their education, from 1994 to 1999, Pedro received a MEng degree in Electrical Engineering from Universidad de Los Andes.
