Barend Steyn

Barend Steyn is an experienced mining engineer with a diverse background in the mining industry. Currently serving as the Group Planning Manager at Pan African Resources PLC since January 2023, Barend previously held various roles at AngloGold Ashanti from February 2019 to January 2023, including Principal Studies Lead and Underground Production Specialist in Tanzania. Prior experience includes a role as Senior Consulting Engineer at Advisian, where Barend completed a multidisciplinary feasibility study for an open cast copper mine in the DRC, as well as significant positions at VBKOM focusing on feasibility studies and mining planning. Barend's career began at BHP Billiton as a miner in underground and open cast operations, following a Bachelor of Engineering in Mining Engineering from the University of Pretoria.
