Bert van Den Berg

Bert van den Berg has a diverse and extensive work experience in the mining industry. Bert began their career as a Learner Official at Lonmin Plc in 2003 and progressed through various roles such as Production Shift Supervisor, Mining Engineer, Mine Overseer, and finally becoming a Mine Manager. Bert worked at Lonmin Plc from 2003 to 2016. In 2016, they joined Pan African Resources PLC as the Group Manager for Projects & Business Improvement. Bert then moved on to become the Group Mining Engineer and is currently serving as the Chief Operating Officer at Pan African Resources PLC, starting in January 2021.

Bert van den Berg received their Bachelor of Science in Engineering with a focus on Mining Engineering from the University of the Witwatersrand. Bert attended the university from 2004 to 2007. In addition to their degree, they obtained the Mine Managers Certificate of Competency from the Department of Minerals and Energy in January 2010. Bert also received two national certificates in mining operations and rockbreaking underground, specifically in the narrow tabular context, from the Mining Qualifications Authority.
