Salim Arslan

Salim Arslan has a strong background in machine learning and research. Salim'smost recent position was as a Machine Learning Lead at Panakeia since September 2021. Prior to that, they worked as a Senior Machine Learning Scientist at the same company from December 2019 to August 2021.

Before joining Panakeia, Salim worked as an Honorary Research Fellow at Imperial College London from November 2018 to October 2021. During their time there, they led the machine learning path of a multidisciplinary project focused on the evolution of culture in Iznik tiles' motifs. Salim also provided expert advice and guidance to others in various ongoing projects.

Prior to their position at Imperial College London, Salim served as a Machine Learning Scientist at ThinkSono from December 2017 to December 2019. Salim was part of the team responsible for creating software to diagnose deep vein thrombosis. Salim'smain focus was on designing and implementing neural network models for ultrasound image analysis. Salim also worked on daily ML problems and helped integrate ML solutions into the product.

Salim's earlier experience includes a role as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Imperial College London from October 2017 to September 2018. During this time, they explored novel methods for identifying regions of interest in the brain using graph-based convolutional networks. Salim also worked as a Research Assistant, where they applied deep learning models to 3D brain images for semantic segmentation and biomarker detection. Additionally, they worked as a PhD Researcher and a Graduate Teaching Assistant during their time at Imperial College London.

Salim started their career as a Research Assistant and Teaching Assistant at Bilkent University from September 2010 to June 2013. Salim also worked as a Project Investigator during this time. Salim'sroles involved assisting in various courses and conducting research projects.

Salim Arslan obtained their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Engineering from Ege University, where they enrolled from 2005 to 2010. Salim then pursued higher education and earned a Master of Science (MS) degree in Computer Engineering from Bilkent University, which they attended from 2010 to 2012. Finally, Salim pursued further academic advancement and completed a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Computer Science at Imperial College London, where they studied from 2013 to 2017.
