Sanjeev Asthana

Sanjeev Asthana has a diverse and extensive work experience. Sanjeev is currently the Chief Executive Officer of Patanjali Foods - Ruchi Soya since July 2020. Prior to this, they served as the Managing Partner at I-Farm Venture Advisors Pvt. Ltd. from 2011 to 2023.

Before joining I-Farm Venture Advisors Pvt. Ltd., Sanjeev held the position of President and Chief Executive at Reliance Retail from 2006 to 2010. During their tenure at Reliance Retail, they played a crucial role in building the food business from scratch and implementing unique business models. Sanjeev also led a $200 million investment in food supply chain infrastructure and oversaw the roll-out of Reliance Retail with a $1 billion investment.

Prior to Reliance Retail, Sanjeev worked as the Director of Cargill India from 1997 to 2006. In this role, they managed the grain and oilseed business and was involved in strategic investment and joint venture decisions. Sanjeev'sleadership and innovative approach earned recognition for Cargill as one of the most innovative large-scale businesses in emerging economies.

Sanjeev began their career at ITC Limited in 1991, where they held various roles across different countries. Sanjeev served as the Country Manager for Indonesia and Romania and played a significant role in setting up East European operations in Romania, dealing with distribution and investments in the privatization of state assets/companies.

Sanjeev Asthana completed their MBA in International Trade from the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade in 1989. Sanjeev also holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the Institute of Rural Management Anand (IRMA) with a specialization in Business Administration and Management. Prior to this, they obtained a Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) degree from Lucknow University.
