Carmen Lee-Essington has extensive experience in the energy sector, starting with their role as Chief Geophysicist at Amerok Geosciences from 1996 to 1999. Carmen then joined Canadian Natural Resources Limited (CNRL) as a Geologist from 2002 to 2008. Carmen moved to Husky Energy, where they held various positions including Geologist, Geology Manager, Tucker Lake Asset Manager, Director of Planning (Upstream/Downstream), and finally Vice President of Oil Sands from 2008 to 2021. In 2021, they joined Cenovus Energy as Vice President of Oil Sands Operations until September 2023. Currently, Carmen works as the Vice President of the Conventional Business Unit at Pembina Pipeline Corporation, starting in September 2023.
Carmen Lee-Essington earned a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Geology from the University of Reading in 2002. Prior to that, they completed a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Geology/Earth Science, General at the University of Calgary.
