Pia Rai

Pia Rai is an accomplished Project and Marketing Manager at Penny Appeal, where transformative excursions for volunteers have established clean water facilities in 10 South Asian villages, benefiting over 5,000 individuals. As a co-founder of the Brown Paper Bag Project of the High Desert, Pia has aided over 300 unsheltered families in the region during a significant food crisis. Involvement with LA Works as a Senior Volunteer has led to a 30% increase in participation in anti-racism workshops. Pia's experience also includes critical roles with the County of Orange, Congressman Pete Aguilar, and the California Foundation for Medical Care, focusing on public policy, homelessness solutions, and disability rights. A current Master's degree candidate in Public Policy at UC Irvine, Pia holds a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and Computer Science from UC Riverside.
