Rob King

Senior Director, Basketball Communications at Philadelphia 76ers

Rob King is currently the Director of Basketball Communications for the Philadelphia 76ers. Prior to their current position, King worked as a Public Relations Assistant for both the National Football League and the Brooklyn Nets.

King began their career in 2013 as a Public Relations Intern for the Brooklyn Nets. In this role, they were responsible for writing press releases, coordinating player media tours, and providing editorial support for various publications. Rob also compiled and distributed a daily clips packet of stories pertaining to the NFL.

In October 2013, King was promoted to Public Relations Assistant for the Brooklyn Nets. In this role, they continued to write press releases and coordinate player media tours. Rob also assisted with credentialing for AFC and NFC Championship Games and NFL Scouting Combine. Additionally, they managed alumni relations outreach projects and distributed a full-scale daily clips packet of stories to Commissioner Roger Goodell and senior staff.

In August 2014, King left the Brooklyn Nets to join the National Football League as a Public Relations Assistant. In this role, they wrote press releases featuring statistical analysis and projections, assisted with credentialing for NFL events, and coordinated player media tours during the Scouting Combine. Rob also provided editorial support for NFL Record & Fact Book, Super Bowl game program, and Postseason Media Guide. Additionally, King monitored and transcribed key points of Sunday NFL pregame shows and live reports pertaining to league issues.

In October 2015, King left the National Football League to join the Philadelphia 76ers as their Director of Basketball Communications. In this role, they are responsible for managing the team's public relations strategy, coordinating media relations efforts, and overseeing the team's social media presence.

Rob King's educational career began at Wantagh High School, where they completed their Bachelor of Arts in Sports Communication / Journalism. Rob then attended Marist College to complete their degree.
