Yasuo Honda

Yasuo Honda has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies and roles. Yasuo is currently working as a Technical Support Engineer at PingCAP since August 2021. Prior to that, they worked at Tableau Software as a Senior Technical Support Engineer from January 2020 to July 2021.

From 2018 to 2019, Yasuo was a Software Engineer at freee株式会社. Before that, they served as a Senior DBA at SRA America from December 2008 to December 2017. During this role, they successfully migrated and upgraded Oracle databases and worked on HP-UX and Linux platforms.

In 2008, Yasuo worked as a Support Manager/Presales Engineer at IPLocks Japan, handling database security and compliance products. Yasuo conducted benchmark tests for Oracle and DB2 during this time. Prior to that, they were a Support Manager at IPLocks Japan from April 2006 to March 2007, where they implemented a web-based support system and collaborated with engineers in the United States and Russia.

Yasuo's earliest work experience was as a Principal Consultant at Oracle Corporation Japan from April 1997 to May 2005. Yasuo worked on various projects related to Oracle RAC and SQL, performing SQL tuning and consulting on database performance improvements.

Yasuo Honda obtained a Bachelor's degree in Sociology from the International Christian University, attending from 1993 to 1997. In terms of additional certifications, they achieved a Tableau Server Certified Associate certification from Tableau Software in November 2020. Yasuo also obtained the PostgreSQL 9.3 Professional Certification from EnterpriseDB in June 2015 and the Oracle Certified Professional, MySQL 5.6 Database Administrator certification from Oracle in October 2015. In August 2017, Yasuo earned the Oracle ACE certification from Oracle. Furthermore, in March 2018, they became a Salesforce Certified Administrator by completing the necessary requirements from Salesforce. Moving forward, they acquired the LFS258: Kubernetes Fundamentals certification from The Linux Foundation in September 2021. Finally, in June 2022, they obtained both the PingCAP Certified TiDB Associate and TiDB Professional Database Administrator certifications from PingCAP.
