Todd Brian Backus

Todd Brian Backus is an experienced theatre professional currently serving as the Literary Manager at Portland Stage since August 2016, where responsibilities include season planning and new play development. Additionally, Todd co-produces and directs at PowerOut, collaborating with co-Artistic Producers Nora Sorena Casey and Ben Ferber. Previous positions include roles as Social Media Manager and Graphic Designer for The Fantasticks, Videographer and Editor for Hot Pepper Theater, and Production Assistant at Snug Harbor. Todd has a strong background in graphic design and marketing, having created visuals and promotional materials for various stage productions, and has also directed and produced multiple theatrical works. Todd holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre- Acting/Directing and Graphic Design from the State University of New York at Oswego, completed in 2011.
