Michael Thompson

Sr. Staff Software Engineer at Precision Flight Controls

Michael Thompson has extensive experience in software engineering, project management, and technical leadership. Michael began their career as a development engineer and MTS at Hewlett-Packard, where they designed, developed, and supported the front end of HP's FORTRAN 77 compiler. Michael worked at Microtec Research as a project manager and lead engineer, and was responsible for developing and enhancing C and C++ compilers, assemblers, linkers, and librarians for multiple processors. At Advantest R&D, they were a group leader and project leader, managing and leading teams of engineers working on different projects. At Elesys, Inc., they were responsible for technically managing in-house software engineers, firmware engineers, and contract driver developers, designing and testing imaging, rendering, driver, system software, and embedded control firmware. Finally, at Precision Flight Controls, Inc., they were a senior staff software engineer who designed, implemented, and tested software and firmware that interfaces hardware mock-ups of aircraft instruments and displays to various flight simulation programs.

From 1976 to 1980, Michael Thompson attended the University of Pennsylvania -- Moore School of Electrical Engineering, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree in the field of Computer Science and Engineering.
