Viet Nguyen currently serves as a Research Associate at the Public Policy Institute of California, a position held since February 2015. Prior experience includes roles as a Survey Specialist, Survey Operations Analyst, and Summer Intern at NORC at the University of Chicago. Viet also contributed as a Research Volunteer for the Juvenile Justice and Reentry Project, co-authoring a policy brief and conducting various literature reviews. Additional internships at the Mayor's Office of Gang Reduction and Youth Development, the U.S. Department of Justice, Policing and Social Justice Laboratory, the ACLU, and Offender Aid and Restoration provided experience in research, data analysis, and community engagement. Viet holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Criminology and a Master of Arts in Statistics from the University of Pennsylvania, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Public Policy from UCLA.
