M. Scott Linn

M. Scott Linn has a diverse work experience in the railroad industry. M. Scott is currently serving as the Executive Vice-President & COO at Gulf & Atlantic Railways, LLC since April 2022. M. Scott is also a Member of the Board of Directors at PACIFIC WEST, LLC since January 2022.

Prior to their current roles, Linn operated their own consulting firm called Linn Railroad Consulting Services, LLC from April 2020 to May 2022, providing expertise in all areas of railroad engineering, operations, and mechanics. M. Scott also held executive positions at Genesee & Wyoming Inc., serving as the Senior Vice President of Engineering from August 2016 to April 2020, the SVP of Mechanical & Engineering from January 2015 to August 2016, and the SVP of Engineering - Engineering from January 2013 to December 2014.

Before joining Genesee & Wyoming Inc., Linn worked at RailAmerica Inc. as the Vice President of Mechanical & Engineering from January 2011 to January 2013. M. Scott was also the SVP of Operation Eastern Corridor at RailAmerica from 2005 to 2008.

Linn began their career at BNSF Railway in 1983, where they held various engineering and operating positions. M. Scott served as the Division Engineer for the Illinois Division from 1996 to 2000 and held a maintenance engineer position in Argentina, where they played a key role in privatizing the subway system of Buenos Aires.

Throughout their career, Linn has demonstrated expertise in railroad operations, engineering, and consulting, making him a valuable asset in the industry.

M. Scott Linn attended Montana State University-Bozeman from 1979 to 1983, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering.
