Technical Design Director at Relic Entertainment

Daniel Porter has a diverse range of work experience in the gaming industry. Daniel currently serves as the Design Director at Relic Entertainment, where they are part of the studio director group and serves as the Game Director for the post-launch live ops phase of Company of Heroes 3. Daniel has also held roles at Relic Entertainment as a Principal Designer, Lead Designer, and Senior Designer.

Prior to their time at Relic Entertainment, Daniel worked as a Senior Game Designer at Red Hook Studios, where they were the sole full-time game designer for the Darkest Dungeon The Butcher's Circus DLC. Daniel also collaborated with a remote programming team to build the studio's first online/multiplayer infrastructure.

Before Red Hook Studios, Daniel gained experience at Gameloft, where they served as a Game Director, Senior Game Designer, and Game Designer. Daniel managed SCRUM teams, designed social and retention features, and provided support for Live Ops campaigns for various projects.

Daniel's work experience also includes roles at Blinkman (student project), Emergent Media Center of Champlain College, Eidos, Zard Overlord (student project), and Residential Life Office of Champlain College. In these positions, they served as a Team Lead, Writer, Engineer, Conceptual Game Designer, Conceptual Game Designer, Quality Assurance Tester, Assistant Project Manager, Interface and Systems Designer, Designer, and Flash Programmer.

Daniel Porter attended Champlain College from 2007 to 2011 and obtained a Bachelor's Degree of Science in Electronic Game and Interactive Development (Design). Additionally, they achieved a Certificate in Business Management during their time at the institution.
