Rory Rigney

Commercial Director, EMEA at Relo Metrics

Rory Rigney has a diverse work experience spanning over 20 years. Rory started their career in 2000 as a Media Staff/Runner at USTA. Rory then worked as an Editorial Assistant/Web Production at The Sunday Business Post in 2001, followed by a role as a Marketing/Media Assistant at Parker Advertising & Digital Marketing in 2002.

In 2004, Rory joined RTE as a Production Assistant before moving to Setanta Sports in 2005. At Setanta Sports, they held various roles such as On-Air Promotions Producer, Programme Planner, and Programme Manager. Rory successfully developed and managed channel strategies, negotiated sports rights acquisitions, and reduced staffing costs through effective procedures.

In 2009, Rory joined Sky where they worked as a Commercial Manager (Sports Rights) at Sky Sports and later as the Head of Commercial Development (Sport) at Sky Tickets. Rory identified rights acquisitions and revenue opportunities for Sky Sports, supported commercial focus, and prepared detailed commercial plans for ticketing partnerships.

From 2017 to 2019, Rory worked as a Senior Partnerships Manager, Sport at Little Dot Studios. Rory developed and executed a sales process, achieved a significant increase in revenue in the sport, and established key partnerships with sports broadcasters, rights holders, and agencies.

In 2020, Rory joined Liverpool Football Club as the Director, Media & Digital Sales Development. During their tenure, they directed media and digital sales development activities.

In 2022, Rory became self-employed as a Media Consultant before joining Relo Metrics in 2023 as the Commercial Director, EMEA.

Rory Rigney completed their Leaving Certificate degree at St Michael's College in Dublin, Ireland from 1992 to 1998. Following that, from 1998 to 2001, they pursued a B.A in Business with a specialization in Marketing at Dublin Business School. In 2001 to 2002, Rory obtained a Diploma in Marketing, Advertising, and Public Relations from The Institute of Commercial Management (ICM). Lastly, they pursued a Master's degree in Journalism & Communications at Griffith College Dublin from 2003 to 2004.
