Machine Learning and Backend Engineer at Ren Energy

Sashka Warner has a diverse work history with experience in geospatial data analysis, ecological research, and software development. In 2013, they worked as an environmental research assistant at the University of Oregon. In 2014, Sashka served as an ecological restoration intern for Friends of Buford Park & Mt. Pisgah. In 2015, they worked as an assistant to the fair manager and volunteer supervisor for Lane County Public Works. In 2016, they worked as a stream ecology and riparian zone research assistant for the Richardson Lab at the University of British Columbia. In 2017, Sashka worked as a research assistant for the Eco-Informatics Summer Institute at Oregon State University. In 2018, they worked as a geospatial data analyst for The Firelight Group and as a research assistant for the Institute for Resources, Environment and Sustainability and the Department of Earth, Ocean and Atmospheric Sciences at the University of British Columbia. In 2021, they worked as a self-employed musician. In 2022, Sashka volunteered as a software developer for DataKind, where they cleaned and transformed data using Python and SQL and developed a social services application using Python and JavaScript. Sashka's future role in 2023 at Ren will be as a machine learning and backend engineer.

Sashka Warner attended The University of British Columbia from 2014 to 2018 and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Global Resource Systems, with a specialization in GIS and hydrology. In November 2022, Sashka obtained a certification in Machine Learning Specialization from Stanford University and DeepLearning.AI.
