Flavia Franco da Cunha has extensive work experience in the field of scientific research and academia. Flavia began their career as a Trainee in Microbiological Quality Control at Eli Lilly and Company from November 2006 to March 2008. Flavia then pursued their education, first joining Unifesp - Universidade Federal de São Paulo as a Graduate Student in Molecular Biology from February 2010 to August 2012, focusing on the treatment of Peripheral Arterial Disease. Flavia then continued their studies at the University of California San Diego, where they served as a Visiting PhD Student from September 2016 to November 2017, exploring the role of Nlrp3 in regulatory T cells. Flavia returned to Unifesp as a PhD Graduate Student, specializing in Mesenchymal Stromal Cells derived Microvesicles and their impact on immune cells, from February 2014 to January 2019. Following their PhD, Flavia joined UC San Diego again as a Postdoctoral Researcher, working on Mesenchymal Stromal Cell therapy for idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis and cancer from October 2019 to July 2021, and then testing the effect of cargocytes secreting IL-12 in the lungs with metastasis or fibrosis from July 2021 to December 2022. Currently, they are working at Replay as a Scientist starting from November 2022.
Flavia Franco da Cunha completed their education in a chronological order. Flavia first attended the Universidade de São Paulo (USP) from 2004 to 2009, where they studied Pharmacy and Biochemistry. Following this, they pursued a Master's degree in Molecular Biology at Universidade Federal de São Paulo (Unifesp) from 2010 to 2012. Finally, they enrolled at the Escola Paulista de Medicina - EPM/UNIFESP from 2014 to 2019, earning a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Nephrology/Immunology.
