Valerie Wallen, SPHR, has extensive experience in human resources and organizational development. Valerie currently holds the position of Vice President, Global Human Resources Business Partner at RTI International since December 2020. Prior to this, they served as the Senior Director of Human Resources at the same company from January 2016 to December 2020. Before joining RTI International, Valerie worked as an Organizational Development and Learning Business Partner at the company from July 2013 to December 2015.

Valerie's earlier career includes roles such as Director of Talent and Organizational Effectiveness at the University of Richmond from January 2007 to July 2013. During their time at the university, they were responsible for project management and internal consulting on various initiatives, including employee engagement surveys and the development of core values.

Valerie also held the position of Director of Organization Development and Accountability at the S.C. Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism from April 2001 to January 2007. Their role involved organizational assessment and development, strategic planning, performance management, culture assessment, and leadership development.

Before that, Valerie worked as a Senior Management Consultant and Trainer at the S.C. Budget and Control Board from September 1997 to March 2001. Their responsibilities included writing business development proposals, implementing training and change management projects, and practicing rapid-cycle project management.

Valerie's career began as the Director of Organizational Learning at The Ohio Manufacturers' Association from February 1990 to July 1997. In this role, they collaborated with the President in identifying business opportunities, developing business plans, and engaging with clients and prospects.

Valerie Wallen, SPHR has a diverse education history. Valerie completed their M.A. in Organization Development at Fielding Graduate University from 2002 to 2005. In 1990, Valerie earned a certificated paralegal qualification from Capital University Law School. Their undergraduate education was at Baylor University, where they obtained a B.S. in Education with a focus on English and Sociology from 1980 to 1983. Additionally, they hold certifications as a SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) and SHRM-SC, both obtained in July 2020 from SHRM.
