Michael McGrath is a highly experienced software architect and engineer with over two decades in the video game industry. Currently serving as a Senior Software Architect at Respawn Entertainment since September 2022, Michael leads engineering efforts on asset pipeline tools for Apex Legends. Previously, as a Senior Software Engineer at Mojang Studios, notable contributions included leading the Bedrock Engine new platform development for Minecraft, adapting it for various platforms and enhancing engine performance. Prior roles include software engineering positions at Zipper Interactive, Pipeworks Software, Dynamix, Trilobyte, and the University of Minnesota, where Michael worked on projects ranging from character gameplay systems to environmental AI. Michael holds a Master of Science and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Michigan State University and the University of Minnesota, respectively.
