Drew Boardman

Drew Boardman is a highly experienced Principal Software Engineer currently working at Rewards Network since December 2020, specializing in credit card transaction processing and the development of event-driven microservices applications using Kafka and fs2. With a robust background in functional programming, Drew has held senior engineering roles at various companies, including Soostone, Moda Operandi, and Rally Health, contributing to projects ranging from adaptive pricing systems to scalable microservices. Drew’s expertise extends to technologies such as Scala, Haskell, Docker, and AWS, and includes a strong focus on writing pure, non side-effecting applications. Additionally, Drew has an academic foundation with a B.Sc. in Physics from the Georgia Institute of Technology, alongside experience in research and development within academic and industrial settings.
