Akshay Pujari has a diverse work experience. Akshay currently works as a Data Scientist / Software Engineer at Rubedo Life Sciences since 2020. Prior to that, they were a Research Associate II at DiCE Molecules from 2017-2020, where they designed and developed instrumentation, equipment, and procedures for novel fluidic pumps used for state of the art drug discovery using DNA-programmed combinatorial chemistry. Akshay also assisted the bioinformatics team in data analysis, interpretation and visualizations. From 2015-2017, they were a Research Assistant at UMass Institute for Applied Life Sciences, where they studied lymphatic fluid flow and lymphatic valves in-vivo in wild type and genetically modified mice, and studied effects of flow in cardiovascular & cerebral vessels; disease metastasis including cancer. From 2009-2012, they were an Undergraduate R&D at KIT's College of Engineering (Autonomous), Kolhapur, where they designed and developed an wearable device to automate walking, and designed and fabricated an All-terrain vehicle for SAE-BAJA. Akshay also served as Sports Secretary during this time. In 2012, they worked as an Engineering Intern at Bajaj Auto Ltd, where they researched, designed and installed indexing mechanism for fuel tank line of motorcycles in paint shop, assisted in installation of decal printing system and computed printing time, and interacted with workers and engineers from various departments of the industry.
Akshay Pujari completed a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) in Mechanical Engineering from Shivaji University in 2013. Following this, they obtained a Master of Science (MS) in Mechanical/Biomedical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 2017. Pujari also earned a High School degree from Kolhapur Public School (KPS) in 2009. In addition, they have obtained a certification in Supervised Machine Learning: Regression and Classification from Coursera in November 2022.
