Topher Sutton

Assistant Director, First-Year Engagement, Career Exploration & Success at Rutgers University

As Assistant Director for First-Year Engagement, Topher supports the First-year Interest Group Seminar (FIGS) program by working with Peer Instructors, assisting with the selection process for Peer Instructors, as well as teaching the Peer Instructor Education course.

Before joining the FIGS team, Topher served as the Department Administrator for the Learning Centers where he managed the day-to-day operations of one of the centers, supervised the Administrative team, and provided administrative support for all of the Learning Center programs. Topher has also previously worked with Student Support Services (SSS) at Rutgers and as a Residence Director for first-year and second-year residence halls at The College of New Jersey. He attended Rutgers University for both his Bachelor’s degree in Communication and Psychology and his Masters in College Student Affairs through the Graduate School of Education.

Topher has a passion for working with student leaders and is very excited about the FIGS program. Rutgers has so many amazing resources to offer, so he highly encourages students to take advantage of their time here and get involved as much as they can. Most importantly, Topher encourages all students to get connected to the the Office of Career Exploration and Success (CES) early and often to set themselves apart and explore as many options as they can.
