Sam Martin is the Chief Executive Officer at S. D. Martin Consulting. Sam has over 10 years of experience in policy development and implementation, with a focus on child welfare and positive youth development.
Martin began their career as a Policy Specialist at FosterClub Inc., where they developed the policy team infrastructure, created a legislation tracking system, and oversaw the National Foster Youth and Alumni Policy Council. Sam also managed FosterClub's congressional relationships and collaborated with national partners on nationwide initiatives.
During their time at FosterClub, Martin helped pass and implement several federal child welfare bills, including the Family First Prevention Services Act and the Every Child Deserves a Family Act. In addition to their policy work, they also focused on positive youth development, connecting young leaders to federal advocacy opportunities.
Martin has a passion for helping others and believes that every young person deserves a chance to succeed. Sam is committed to ensuring that all young people have access to the resources and support they need to reach their full potential.
After high school, Sam Martin attended Seattle Central College for two years before transferring to the University of Washington, where they earned a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and Government. Sam then went on to earn a Master's degree in Public Administration from Seattle University.
