Jeff Wang

Jeff Wang has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Jeff is currently the Director of Software Engineering at Saildrone Inc since September 2022. Prior to this, they worked as a Senior Software Engineering Manager and Software Engineering Lead at the same company. Jeff also served as a Platform Software Engineer from October 2017 to December 2018.

Before joining Saildrone Inc, Jeff worked at Nimble Collective, Inc as a Backend Software Engineer from August 2015 to October 2017. At Nimble Collective, they built services at a cloud-based animation production platform startup and integrated third-party application streaming partners with the company's front-end and backend.

Jeff also has experience at DreamWorks Animation where they worked as a Character Technical Director from July 2008 to July 2015. Jeff expanded the department's character data pipeline and software tools, optimizing workflow and solving technical challenges.

Prior to DreamWorks Animation, Jeff worked as a Research and Teaching Specialist at Cornell Program of Computer Graphics from October 2006 to June 2008. Jeff co-designed optical motion capture of bird flight and conducted lab recitations in computer animation courses.

Additionally, Jeff gained valuable experience as a Technical Director Intern at Pixar Animation Studios in 2004 and completed an internship at NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration in 2001.

Jeff Wang holds a Master's Degree in Computer Graphics, which they obtained from Cornell University between 2004 and 2006. Prior to their Master's Degree, they earned a Bachelor's Degree in Biological and Environmental Engineering from Cornell University, studying from 2000 to 2004.
